Week 5 Aircraft specifics and Licensing

Medical: Each student applying for a flight attendants license at the Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa (CAA) must undergo an aviation medical examination with a CAA approved aviation doctor. This examination includes urine tests, eyesight and hearing test, chest x-rays, lung function and an ECG.

SEPT: Safety Emergency Procedures Training deals with all possible emergencies onboard an aircraft. This includes flight attendant training requirements, standard operating procedures, theory of flight, security, emergency procedures and equipment, as well as Aircraft type ratings.

AVMED: Aviation medicine training will enable you to save the life of a passenger should it be necessary. This subject deals with accident injuries such as burns, fractures and medical situations like heart attacks, strokes, epilepsy, and asthma.

Ditching: The use of flotation devices e.g. life rafts and jackets after an emergency landing on water.
Dangerous Goods and Air Law: Articles that can be carried safely through correct quantity and packaging

Fire Fighting: Practical fire fighting in an approved fire trainer.

Licensing: On completion of the course at Future Flyers Training Academy successful students must pass the CAA exam at the offices in Midrand to obtain a valid cabin crew license, which allows them to operate on South African registered aircraft.

Evacuation: Practical evacuation from aircraft with slides
Future Flyers Training Academy exams and re-writes:
All students must pass a written exam after every module with 90%. Should a student fail with less than 10 % of the pass mark, one re-write will be granted. Should they fail for the second time the module must be repeated at the students own cost.

Also included: Interviewing skills and CV compilations for airlines.
Study Material: All study material will be supplied by Future Flyers Training Academy.

Cost: 2016/17 is the year that we will be celebrating our 10th birthday! Apart from this great birthday price and unique to our academy and no other training organization can possibly offer, is the opportunity for the two top candidates of each training course to be guaranteed an interview with a leading South African regional airline in the aviation industry. Note that this is a guaranteed interview only and does not guarantee employment .

A 50% deposit is payable 3 week prior to commencement of the course and the balance must be paid within 30 days after commencement. The final combined exam will not be allowed prior to the settlement of the outstanding course fees. This is to ensure that licensing can be booked at the CAA prior to expiry of the required skills test and for peace of mind regarding legitimacy.

Re-write: Failure between 80% & 89% – No charge

Redo: Failure with less than 80% or failure of the re-write – R3850 per module

All prices are effective 01 March 2012 and inclusive of VAT.

Criteria for suitable candidates
• Between 18 and 35
• Matriculated
• Able to swim
• Presentable (height and weight in proportion.)
• Able to converse in English
• Well groomed
